Frequently Asked Questions About
Emergency Gas and Plumbing

Do you provide 24/7 emergency response?
We respond to genuine emergencies as quickly as possible. While we don't guarantee 24/7 availability, we make every effort to help during urgent situations, especially gas emergencies and heating failures in cold weather.
What constitutes a gas or plumbing emergency?
Gas emergencies include suspected leaks, carbon monoxide concerns, or appliance safety issues. Plumbing emergencies typically involve burst pipes, severe leaks, or complete loss of water supply. Heating emergencies are usually no heating in cold weather.
Do you charge call-out fees for emergencies?
Yes, emergency call-outs include a call-out fee to cover rapid response and diagnostic time. We'll explain all costs upfront before starting any work, and call-out fees are typically offset against repair costs.
What areas do you cover for emergency response?
We provide emergency response across mid-Cornwall from Truro down to the Lizard area, including St Austell, Bodmin, Newquay, and surrounding areas. Response times vary depending on location and current commitments.
Can you fix problems on the first visit?
We carry comprehensive tool kits and common spare parts to fix many problems immediately. However, some repairs may require specialist parts that need ordering, in which case we'll make the system safe and schedule completion.
What should I do if I smell gas?
Turn off your gas supply at the meter if safe to do so, open windows, don't use electrical switches, and call us immediately. If you're concerned about immediate danger, also contact the gas emergency line on 0800 111 999.
